NFL Playoff Predictions: Why Green Bay Packers Will Run the Table

There's been a lot of talk on whether the Green Bay Packers are vulnerable after losing to the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 15, breaking their undefeated streak.

And, the reality is, anything can happen in the NFL playoffs.

But the Packers are still the best team in the NFL?and it's not even close.

Besides the team's amazing consistency (one bad game in 15 is nothing to be ashamed of), the Packers are averaging a league-high 34.3 points per game behind quarterback Aaron Rodgers. And they distance themselves from high-scoring teams like the New England Patriots and New Orleans Saints because they have a better defense, led by linebacker Clay Matthews.

Plus, they already showed they could beat the Saints in Week 1 with their 42-34 victory.

On top of all of this, however, is the fact that the Packers will have home-field advantage throughout the playoffs, which is particularly significant because they play at the raucous Lambeau Field and haven't lost at home since Week 6?of last season.

As of now, I have the Patriots giving the Packers the most trouble in their postseason run. I have the Patriots meeting up with the Packers in the Super Bowl.

But the Patriots, despite racking up 12 wins this season, have some legitimate concerns.

Will the Packers win their second straight Super Bowl?

Will the Packers win their second straight Super Bowl?

  • Yes

  • No

For one, they don't severely limit opponents' offenses, and have given up 24 points or more to the Indianapolis Colts, Washington Redskins and Miami Dolphins in recent weeks.

But, most importantly, teams have their ways with them in the passing game. The Patriots have given up 293.8 passing yards per game this season, worst in the NFL.

And while the Packers have given up 286.3 passing yards per game, they make up for it with an opportunistic defense that has racked up 29 interceptions, by far the most in the NFL. They also have five defensive touchdowns this season.

Every team will hit bumps along the way during an NFL season.

But the Packers are done losing for the rest of the season and will win their second consecutive Super Bowl.
